The General Assembly amended how continuing education credits for real estate licensees are allocated. Licensees will now need 11 mandatory credit hours including two hours each in agency, contracts, and legal updates. The amount of elective credit hours required is reduced to five. There is no overall increase in the total credit hours required. The Virginia Real Estate Board must adopt regulations to allow implementation of the bill against current licensees beginning in the licensee’s next full renewal cycle following July 1, 2024.
