Self-paced online course: F.A.Q.
We allow our self-paced online students to sit in and monitor any of our live Zoom sessions (within their course enrollment periuod) for extra reinforcement of the material. It is the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS: The convenience of a self-paced format along with the benefit of instructor-led learning. The Zoom sessions do not count towards your 60 hours of education, but they are a fantastic way to ensure you have a firm grasp on the material.
Yes. It is fully approved by the Virginia Real Estate Board. This course qualifies you to sit for your state licensing exam.
The difference is explained here.

This instructionally designed course includes quiz questions, interactive activities, scenario-based case studies, unit quizzes, and video files to help you master the material.

You log in and out as desired from home, work or anywhere with internet access. The course is divided into short pages that you click through. There are periodic quizzes to help you remember what you read.
It depends on how long you spend on each chapter. Many people complete a few hours a day and can finish within a couple of weeks or a couple of months, depending on your time spent. By Virginia Real Estate Board rules, you must be online for 50 hours (in the reading section, interactive exercises or quiz questions). This equates to the 60 hours of classroom time allowing for 10 minute breaks. So, if you finish early, you can simply open the reading pages, interactive exercises or quiz questions and review.
Please note: Course completion, to include final course exams must be within six-month (from purchase date) enrollment period. Course extensions are available. Contact us for details.

For those seeking real estate licensure, a final exam similar to the VA licensing exam will conclude the course. The Virginia DPOR requires that you successfully complete a live, proctored final course examination. More information and final exam registration: Final Course Exam | (advancedschoolofrealestate.com)
You must complete all of the content within the course in order to receive credit. Be aware that if you are inactive in a course for twenty minutes, the course will time out and you will need to log back in.
In the Table of Contents within your course, on the left, you can click the + sign to expand each section. On the right-hand side, you will see check marks turn from gray to black as you complete each section. You can also follow the percentage icon which will increase for every portion completed in each section, and clicking the bar chart will show you how much time you spent in that unit.
After all time has been accrued, you will be eligible to complete your proctored final exam. Once your exam (s) has been successfully completed, your information will be uploaded to PSI (the testing vendor for Virginia) so you may register for your licensing exam.
Our online course material is all self-contained. No additional textbooks are required.
The course is only designed to be used on a normal desktop or laptop computer (Mac or Windows). Unsupported mobile devices such as the iPad, tablets, smart phones, cell phones, iPhone, or e-readers (Kindle, Nook) do not have full-featured web browsers and instead have very “basic” browsers. Unfortunately, this means that a lot of the rules that states have for online courses require advanced functions which mobile devices simply cannot do. Macintosh mobile devices (iPad, iPhone) also specifically do not support Adobe Flash, which is a required plugin for both Interactive exercises as well as videos.
